Cardiac Electrophysiology

The practice of cardiac electrophysiology involves diagnosing and treating issues with abnormal rhythms in your heart. Abnormal slow heart rhythms may require adjustment to medications or a pacemaker. Abnormal fast heart rhythms may require medications, an ablation procedure (where abnormal heart tissue can be treated by applying heat energy) or insertion of a defibrillator. These procedures would be undertaken in hospital.
